52 Petitions to Wind-Up Companies heard by the High Court in the second Quarter of 2010

The latest figures produced by Vision-net.ie show that the Irish High Court heard Petitions to Wind Up 52 seperate Irish Companies between 1st April and 30th June 2010.

Of these 52 Petitions, 17 (32.6%) were to wind up companies in the Construction industry. That means that Construction is by far the most affected single industry sector.

The High Court has subsequently ordered the liquidation of 10 of those companies.

Four companies a piece in the Hospitality, Real Estate and Finance industries were also affected. The High Court has since ordered the liquidation of one of the companies in the Hospitality sector, two of the Real Estate companies and three of the Financial sector companies.

Of the seven companies in the Manufacturing, Publishing and Retail sectors only two avoided being Wound-Up by the High Court.

The remainder of the Petitions were heard against companies involved in Other Business Activities. Nine of which were liquidated by the High Court.
